This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Friends of Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge Complex (FNNWRC) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the friendsofnisquallynwr.org website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by FNNWRC.  FNNWRC are committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our members and visitors to the Site. This policy outlines the principles and practices we follow in protecting your personal information. This policy applies to FNNWRC and to any person providing services on our behalf. A copy of this policy is provided to any User on request.

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information such as your name, address, phone number and email address from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Site, register on the site, subscribe to the newsletter, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

Clear gifs/web beacons information

When you use the Site, we may employ clear gifs (also known as web beacons) which are used to anonymously track the online usage patterns of our Users. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information is allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the Service.

General Communications

We use the information we collect or receive, such as your email address, to communicate directly with you. We may send you emails containing newsletters, promotions, and special offers. If you do not want to receive such email messages, you will be given the option to opt out or change your preferences. We also use your information to send you Site-related emails (e.g., account verification, donations and billing confirmations and reminders, changes/updates to features of the Site, technical and security notices). FNNWRC may collect and use Users’ personal information for the following purposes:

    We may use feedback you provide to improve our services.
  • To process payments
    We may use the information Users provide about themselves when donating, volunteering or  joining FNNWRC only to track to that activity. We do not share this information  with outside parties except to the extent necessary to inform them of the activity.
  • To run a promotion, contest, survey or other Site feature
    To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to  them.
  • To send periodic emails
    We may use the email address to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include FNNWRC news, updates, related service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

FNNWRC cares about the security of your information, and uses commercially reasonable safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected through the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to your email communications from FNNWRC, at all times. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, FNNWRC will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to other Organizations. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.

Children’s Privacy

FNNWRC does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register as Users FNNWRC website without verification of parental consent. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us by email.
